3rd Rheinland Elektro maschinen International Conference, October 2010

The official start of the 3rd Rheinland Elektro maschinen International Conference was on Saturday October 2nd, although some of the guests came one or two days earlier. We stayed in a beautiful marina Kaštela in Split, where we’ve spent 4 days presenting the novelties in Elektro maschinen selling range, sailing and enjoying our conversations.

On Saturday, October 2^nd we started with breakfast in a near restaurant and welcomed our business partners. After breakfast we continued with introduction of the novelties and “spiced up” presentations with the announcement of a soon-comming new line of products - ECO LINE.

After technical presentations the practical part followed. We prepared 5 practical points and organized everybody into groups. Each group had arround 15-20 minutes to test the machines and ask questions.

After a long day and a lot of new information everybody enjoyed a lunch break.

When we finished with the lunch, a more relaxing part followed. We visited the Etnographic Museum Split in the center of the city. We saw beautiful structures, gardens, interesting doors and windows and had a pleasure to feel the Split's night life.

After sight-seeing we returned to the marina and our sailing boats.

On Sunday, October 3rd we started with breakfast in a restaurant in marina. After breakfast we returned to our sailing boats and started to prepare for sailing.. Unfortunately the wind was not strong enough so we had to use the sailing boats's engine. Despite the fact that the wind was not strong enough to sail we couldn't wish for a better weather! The sun was shining and some of us even went for a swim! The water was magnificant and everybody enjoyed as much as possible. After a few hours we arrived on the island Vis. We had some free time before lunch and therefore went for a walk.

Late in the afternoon we gathered in a restaurant Bako wich had a beautiful surraounding. People who worked there were more than kind and the food was excelent! We talked, eat, drank and laughed. We all gathered inside the restaurant where we thanked our colleeges from REM Croatia for beeing such a wonderfull hosts and watched the ECO movie again.

But the night was not over yet so we daneced, played the guitar and sang untill the bus came to drive us to the marina Komiža, where we spent the night.

On Monday, October 4th we woke up in a cloudy morning. We had a breakfast on sailing boats and went for a coffee in a caffee bar over the street. After that we started to prepare ours elves for a regatta. We knew that the wind was quite strong but we trusted our skippers. The Turkish sailing team raised up the flag and soon we were all ready to start.

And we started. The wind was really strong and we had to be very careful and listen to the instructions of our skippers. For a few hours the positions of the sailing boat's didn't change much but towards the end, the competition started to show it's real spirit! The first and the second sailing boats switched their places and the fight for the 3rd, place was very hard. We finaly heard the horn which told us that we reached the finish line and the adrenalin slowly started to fade.
